The Great Race
At the 2004 RATASS, "Wojo" was in a competitive mood. First he was going to go several rounds with Mike Tyson. Then he and myself had an "Indian Wrestling" competition. The finale` came when somehow, someway, "Mushroom Man" was challenged to a race. Discussion ensued and it was decided that the "Great Race" would take place the next day at noon. Plans were made and strategy decided upon. "Mushroom" would run in his "brogans" and "Wojo" in a pair of slip on sneakers. The distance would be about 100 yards. As the day dawned, "Wojo" could be seen running a few wind sprints to get his legs warmed up. "Mushroom" was calmly seated around the campfire sipping on a brew. Later in the morning "Wojo" was seen eating "Tums" by the handful. Something about the stress of competition. At this same time, "Mushroom" was engaged in a conversation involving the intricacies of mushroom logs. Less than 20 minutes before the race, "Wojo" was found in a corner of the campsite doping up on red blood cells. "Mushroom" was found lacing his "brogans" a little tighter. At last it was race time. The gallant gladiators gathered at the start line. The words, ready, set, and go were announced. "Wojo" jumped out to a quick lead for all of about 10 yards. "Mushroom" kicked it into overdrive and "Wojo" was left in a cloud of "brogan" dust. The current and reigning RAT Sprint Champion is Max "Mushroom Man" Dubansky. Who knows, his title may fall this year. "Wojo" has been seen running as of late. Could be that there will be another challenge laid down.
