Old West Style
Several years ago, "Wojo" had been reading a lot of Louis l'Amour novels. He was always saying stuff like "this is the way they did it in the old west" and other things like that. Before the park put the drill stem rails around the campsites, they had creosote posts spaced every 4 or so feet that were about 18 inches high. Late one night, "Wojo" was walking around and hit one of the posts. It gouged his shin pretty deep. He came over by the campfire and we all looked at it. He sat back and in his best drawl said "aw hell, pour some whiskey on it to sterilize the wound. That's what they did in the old west." So we did. Needless to say it set him on fire. We didn't seem to hear any more about the "Old West" that year. I also think it was about that time that he quit reading the westerns and went to Tarzan. But that's another story.
