A Rick of Firewood

One fine RAT Weekend, we had run out of firewood for our nightly campfire.  As luck would have it one of our number had spied a sign for wood for sale just outside of town.  Two trucks and several RATs were dispatched to obtain said campfire fuel.  When we arrived, there was no attendant, only cut up wood stacked neatly in little metal frames and a sign stating the price of $20.00/rick.  After much intellectual discussion about how much wood  constituted a rick, a decision was made that the man must have stacked the wood in ricks (the little metal frames).  We quickly decided that we would take two ricks.  Forty units of legal US tender was deposited in the can and we commenced the loading process.  Several beer breaks later, the trucks were loaded.  We all commented that a rick was really a lot of wood.  After returning to RAT Central, our other confederates also mentioned that we had gotten a lot of wood for $40.00 bucks.  Several days after the conclusion of that particular Summit someone took the time to research the true value of a "rick of wood".  After several e-mails back and forth it was determined that we probably had gotten somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-8 ricks.  We did notice that the man was not in business the following year.
